Do you own a Mac?
If you do and you’re interested in doing some serious image editing, this workshop is for you.
Until recently, many aspects of creative image editing have been the sole domain of Adobe’s Photoshop which is regarded by many as the industry leader in this field. Photoshop is very powerful, presents quite a steep learning curve and carries a price tag to match its graphical sophistication, so unless you have a cloud subscription, you may have stuck with cheaper, less capable software up to this point.
The good news is that there’s a new app on the block that’s been written from the ground up to give Adobe a run for their money. It’s available for around £30 and it does almost everything a photographer could want. On this workshop, we introduce you to Affinity Photo from Serif and show you how to use its powerful features to get the best from your images.
Just some of the topics we’ll cover are:
- Setting up your document
- Tonal adjustment tools
- Curves and levels
- Creative cropping
- Understanding layers and blending techniques
- Applying adjustment layers
- What are channels?
- Making and manipulating selections
- Making and using masks
- Removing unwanted objects by inpainting
- Transforming perspective
